Jack Disselhorst

Advanced Social Work Intern (he/him)

As a therapist, I operate with an unwavering compassionate acceptance for my clients. I am a firm believer that change is always possible, and that with the proper support we are capable of enacting that change to realize the life we want for ourselves.

For the past 3 years I have worked in mental health crisis work, after discovering my strength and passion for being with people during their times of intense hurt and need. During this time I have cultivated a blended, adaptive technique that includes Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Relational, Experiential, and Family-Systems therapies. My experience includes work with LGBTQIA+ communities, depression, anxiety, complex trauma including intimate partner violence and familial abuse, Autism spectrum, Borderline Personality Disorder, bipolar disorder, sex and intimacy, and homelessness. I hope to partner with you in order to move through pain and fear, toward contentment, fulfillment, and joy.

He/Him

As a therapist, I operate with an unwavering compassionate acceptance for my clients. I am a firm believer that change is always possible, and that with the proper support we are capable of enacting that change to realize the life we want for ourselves.

As a beneficiary of therapy myself, I understand the healing power of being deeply understood, never judged, and fiercely supported. I seek to understand my client's unique struggles, always bearing in mind that oppressive and exploitative systems contribute to our struggles as much as our personal histories. I also seek to know, cultivate, and empower my client's strengths, resiliency, and passions.
